DESCRIPTION
Located on a small hill, Grottaglie originated from green and stunning canyons; it is famous all over the world for its pottery. Visit to the peculiar old town, characterized by small alleys in the neighbourhood of pottery. Visit a ceramic workshop, where an artisan will explain how the ceramic process takes place.
Departure to Taranto. Here we will have a delicious appetizer in a historic restaurant with a characteristic view of “Mar Piccolo”. Tasting of some typical terrines cooked with the products of the seafaring tradition including cuttlefish, octopus “alla Luciana” and mussels au gratin accompanied by excellent Apulian wine.
Taranto is called “the city of the two seas”, bathed by the Great Sea and the Little Sea. Visit the National Archaeological Museum of Magna Grecia where you can admire the famous “Ori di Taranto”; continuing to the old city, passing the revolving bridge inaugurated in 1887. Finally, visit to the Cathedral of San Cataldo and the old town, rich in noble architecture, Romanesque and Baroque churches.
