DESCRIPTION
Guided bike tour in Lecce, the city of baroque churches and ancient buildings located between small alleys surrounded by three ancient entrances: Porta Rudiae, Porta San Biagio and Porta Napoli. Visit to the Cathedral of Santa Croce and to the wonderful Piazza Duomo; you can admire the castle of Charles V (from the outside), the Roman amphitheater and piazza Sant’Oronzo, which offer a suggestive view into the history of this city.
During the walk, a small moment of pleasure awaits us, tasting a typical sweet from Salento, the “pasticciotto leccese”, made with shortcrust pastry and filled with custard and other variations.
After free time, our guide bring us to a panoramic terrace for an aperitif with an enchanting view. The structure, built in 1419, represents one of the most important and rare monuments of the late medieval period in the city. With its unchanged charm and skilful restoration interventions, it’s the good location for celebrating and toasting the fantastic experience that has just ended and tasting the savory delicacies of Salento cuisine on an ancient medieval tower full of charm of the past.
